Day 1: ARRIVE HANOI

Arriving at Noi Bai airport, welcome by Palm Vietnam’s Tour guide and transfer to the reserved hotel in Ha Noi.  Dinner at a local restaurant, relax and enjoy your first evening of your Vietnam -Cambodia trip  14 days in The Capital of Vietnam.

 

Overnight in Hanoi

Hanoi – capital of Vietnam. The city is situated in northern Vietnam on the western bank of the Red River, Thang Long remained the main capital of Vietnam until 1802, when the last Vietnamese dynasty, the Nguyen (1802–1945), transferred the capital south to Hue. Today you will take the highlight of Vietnam Cambodia tours 14 days with culture, history and all the outstanding landmarks.

 

Morning:

  • You will be transferred to the historic complex of Ba Dinh. Visit Ba Dinh Square, where The Late President Ho Chi Minh declared Vietnams Independence on 2 September 1945, Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum and continue to the One Pillar Pagoda, the must-see monument in Hanoi – It is an ancient Buddhist pagoda, built in the early 11th century in the reign of King Ly Thai Tong, all construction supported by only one pillar, resembling a Buddhist lotus.
  • Tran Quoc Pagoda, the oldest pagoda and situated in the center of the capital of Vietnam, unlike other ordinary pagodas, Tran Quoc Pagoda was built in a very intricate way, there are many valuable statues, such as the red lac statue trimmed with gold of Sakyamouni Buddha’s Parinirvana, which is a masterpiece of Vietnamese sculptural art, and lots of ancient stele.
  • Visit Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam (Temple of Literature – The first Imperial school in Vietnam) built in 1070 during the dynasty of King Ly.
  • Lunch at local restaurant.

 

Afternoon:

  • Have a walking trip around with 36 streets of Ha Noi ancient town you have a free time to shopping at 36 streets of Hanoi Old Quarter– consists of many small, meandering streets, each bears the name of the goods that was specifically traded there such as Hang Bac (Silver Product), Hang Ma (Paper Product), Hang Go (Wood Product)…. have the chance to explore the modest but energetic life of the local a hundred years ago, where there were no high-rise buildings, too much traffic or fancy stores.
  • Water Puppet Show (Making puppets dance on water) – is a tradition that dates back as far as the 11th century when it originated in the villages of the Red River Delta area of northern Vietnam. The puppets are made out of wood and then lacquered. The shows are performed in a waist-deep pool. A large bamboo rod supports the puppet under the water and is used by the puppeteers, who are normally hidden behind a screen, to control them.

NOTE: – During the months of October, November and all Mondays of the year Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum in Hanoi will remain closed and will be replaced by a panoramic visit.

Halong Bay, Hạ Long Bay, in northeast Vietnam – one of the most breathtaking natural landmark in Vietnam¸ is known for its emerald waters and thousands of towering limestone islands topped by rainforests. Arrive in Halong and board the traditional sailing junk. Have lunch with regional fresh seafood while explore Halong bay on the most wonderful route. Land on a beautiful island, enjoy the great view of Halong bay, swim in the emerald water of Halong Bay or relax by the beach. Visit cave with paddle boat. An important part of Vietnam -Cambodia trip 14 days is Hue – Hue owes its charm partly to its location on the Perfume River, Hue intimately connected to the imperial Nguyen Dynasty, based in Hue, who ruled from 1802 to 1945, when the Emperor Bao Dai abdicated in favor of Ho Chi Minh’s revolutionary government blends new and old as sleek modern hotels tower over crumbling century-old Citadel walls.

 

Morning: breakfast, you will take the cruise along the Huong River view some fine examples of Buddhist architecture for Royal Pagoda – Mu Lady Pagoda, the symbol of Hue tourism. Then visit the last imperial capital of Vietnam from 1802 to 1945 and has recently been recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage Site.

 

  • Imperial Palace (city), Forbidden City – the center where the history, culture and romance all combine. The imperial palace is in fact a citadel within a citadel within a citadel. The Imperial city is 2km by 2km and where the emperor held important ceremonies.  Forbidden City was reserved solely for the personal use of the emperor – the only servants allowed into this compound were eunuchs who would pose no threat to the royal concubines.
  • The royal Antiques Museum: A gallery of antiques displaying collection of bronze pottery, Chinaware, Phap Lam enamel, court robes, head- gear and personal belongings of former Vietnam Emperors of Nguyen Dynasty.
  • Lunch in the local restaurant.

 

Afternoon:

 

  • Tu Duc Tomb – is not only one of the most beautiful works of the Nguyen dynasty, but it is also the romantic scenery of mounts and lakes.
  • Tu Hiếu Pagoda – The pagoda was built by Nhat Dinh in 1843, with the help of the king’s eunuchs and courtiers.
  • Conical hat village: To see and learn how the locals make the conical hat (non la). (Non la- traditional indispensable accessory expressing the hidden charm and simplicity of women).
  • Incense stick making village: Observe how locals make sandalwood and cinnamon incense Then transfer back to Hotel in Hue

Breakfast, Heading south, we visit the fascinating Cham museum in Danang and explore the Buddhist Shrines of the Marble Mountain Caves.  

 

Departure to Hoian, a small and charming town that located by Thu Bon River. Hoi An has to this days well preserved its most sacred treasure, the centuries-old architecture. The town used to harbor foreign traders back in the 17-18th, and once is an important heavily-frequented trading port in Southeast Asia. The foreigners come from all corners of the world, but mostly are Chinese and Japanese nationalities. Some come and go, but many settle in permanently and etch their marks into the history of Hoi An.

 

Afternoon we will make a stroll between the  844 houses and temples in Hoian, including the Tanky’s House, 200 years of antiquity, with Chinese poems written in nacar inlaid, or ever the structure oldest call “The House at Tran Phu St.”, made of carved wood. Visit city’s Market, one of the most colorful places of the trip.

Free transfer to Danang Airport for a flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Guests are welcomed  by Palm Vietnam travel’s driver, transfer directly to the hotel for check in.

 

Ho Chi Minh City (commonly known as Saigon) is the largest city in southern Vietnam famous for the pivotal role it played in the Vietnam War. It’s also known for its French colonial landmarks. During the 60’s, the United States defended South Vietnam against incursions from the Communist North. On April 30, 1975, Saigon and the entire southern region were liberated, In 1976, after the reunification, the National Assembly unanimously decided to rename Saigon-Cholon-Gia Dinh as Ho Chi Minh City.

Continue Vietnam -Cambodia trip  14 days with a half day for Cuchi tunnel, may start in the morning. The revolutionary center of the  guerrilla’s tunnel system covers close to 200 km underground, and the secrete system once dug under an US air base. The tunnels once spanned even to the area close to the Cambodian border to the city limits of Ho Chi Minh City. Here we will be able to know the laborious life of the Cuchi guerrillas in the tunnels of hundreds of kilometers.

 

A brief city tour visits two fine examples of French colonial architecture, the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Old Saigon Post Office, then visit the War Musem and Ben Thanh Market.

 

Back the hotel for rest until time for A-O show (or TEH DAR or THE MIST) this is – An entertainment (or art) & Vietnamese cultural show, to arrange as a series of beautiful pictures from village to urbanization of Southern Vietnam with a blend of Bamboo Cirque, Acrobatics & Contemporary Dance, play with live music on stage performed by traditional musical instruments which is toured in France & Greece from 2015 to 2017. Overnight in Saigon

After breakfast, guide and driver will pick you from hotel and drive to Cai Be town, from here start a full day trip, the watery world of the Mekong Delta. Take a boat trip along narrow waterways overhung with dense vegetation and try exotic fruits in one of the many orchards.

Enjoy the landscape of the Mekong delta where we take a boat to visit the floating market CAIBE. Along the way, you will stop at a candy factory and orchard garden where you have an opportunity to listen to traditional music.

Enjoy a relaxing lunch at a riverside restaurant with local Elephant Ear Fish, then cross the river by motorized boat to visit some fluvial islands and explore local brick kil. Your driver will meet you at Vinh Long pier then take you back Saigon.

Free and easy till time to transfer to Tan Son Nhat Airport for a flight to Phnompenh. Arrival at Phnom Penh International Airport, you will be welcomed by our local guide. One of famous place of Vietnam -Cambodia trip  14 days is Phnom Penh – Cambodia’s capital is a bustling city, majestically located at the confluence of the mighty rivers of the Mekong and Tonlé Sap.

 

Many of the tourist areas and sights are in the old central city near the river where you may notice classic old French buildings in classic colonial yellow amongst the Southeast Asian shophouses and traditional Khmer pagodas and markets.

 

Afternoon, start your tour with Wat Phnom temple, the founding place of the city on a small hilltop, is tied to the beginnings of Phnom Penh.The large stupa contains the remains of King Ponhea Yat (1405-1467) who moved the Khmer capital from Angkor to Phnom Penh the early 15th century. Then continue to the Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda in the same compound where you can see a collection of Buddhas in gold, silver, crystal etc. called Wat Preah Keo and a pagoda with over 5000 silver tiles cover its floors.

 

Your next stop is the National Museum, located just north of the Royal Palace, a housed in a graceful terracotta structure of traditional design (built from 1917 to 1920), with an inviting courtyard garden. The museum is home to the world’s finest collection of Khmer sculpture: a millennium’s worth and more of masterful Khmer design. Late afternoon, enjoy an atmospheric sunset river cruise with soft drink and watch the great views of colonial building over the Mekong River.

 

Overnight in Phnom Penh.

After breakfast, This morning, you will start tour to visit Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, former school that was taken and convert to be prison by the Khmer Rouge and used as its main detention and torture center named ‘S-21’. Then combine the tour with the colorful markets of Phnom Penh, visit the Russian Market, the best place in the city for wood and stone carvings, jewellery, clothes and Cambodian silk souvenirs.

 

Transfer to Phnom Penh Airport for domestic flight to Siem Reap. Arrive and transfer to hotel for check in.

 

After a short rest after flight, then start to explore Siem Reap tour by excursion to Kampong Phluck floating villages for boat trip on the Tonle Sap Lake, where you will have the opportunity to learn about daily life of local people on the lake. You will see houses on the high stills that built within the floodplain about 16 km southeast of Siem Reap. The villages are primarily Khmer and have about 3000 inhabitants between them. Flooded mangrove forest surrounds the area and is home to a variety of wildlife including crab-eating macaques. On the way, you will passed by the floating houses. Experience with ox-cart riding throughout the local villages, rice field, vegetable field, may sometime you can interact with children out from school back to their home. Sunset may can visit over the rice field.

 

(Note: Due to the boat trip is only possible from June to March. However an alternative floating village at Chong Kneas or Mechrey can be arranged instead).

 

Overnight in Siem Reap.

Today, Option for early Sunrise over Angkor Wat temple. Watch the sun rise over the Angkor Temple to reveal the natural beauty of this area. Back to hotel for your breakfast. After breakfast, experience your tour to ancient city of Angkor Thom complex, which is the last capital of Great Khmer Empire during the reign of King Jayavarman VII. Photo opportunities in front of Ancient South Gate Angkor Thom, before entry the city which you will impressive with stone gate carved with four faces tower of Avalokiteshvara, with the gods or demons statues holding the naga snake along on both side of entrance. After that, continue to Bayon Temple in the center of the city temple. Its 54 Gothic towers are decorated with 216 gargantuan smiling faces of Avalokiteshvara, and it is adorned with 1.2km of extraordinary bas-reliefs incorporating more than 11,000 figures located in the heart of Angkor Thom, is the 12th century. Continue to the Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper king as bas-reliefs are available to visit.

 

After that, continue to the temples of Ta Prohm, The famous temple as “Tree in Temple” photograph opportunity, built in the mid of 12th to early of 13th centuries. a unique temple which is overgrown by jungle trees and vines. Continue to Banteay Kdei, Buddhist monastery from the late 12th Century, and Srah Srang, also known as the “pool of ablutions”.

 

Afternoon, visit to a famous temple of Angkor Wat, was built during the reign of king Suryavarman II in the early 12th century, Angkor Wat is constructed as earthly representation of Mt Meru, surrounded by a vast moat, Angkor Wat was dedicated to Hindu gods. Angkor Wat is well known for the more than 2,000 Apsara dancers decorating the temple. After that, continue to enjoy the scenery from top view of Bakheng Mountain during sunset time. Dinner then return to your hotel.

 

This evening, free at own leisure with hotel facilities or discover a small city of Siem Reap to see the local lifestyle and colorful of markets by evening time. Perhaps hit the markets for some delicious street food or walking a long night market.
